But how will DC keep up? Given the complexity of Marvel’s Phase 4, which is currently developing its intricate multiverse, DC will need much more than just its Justice League to stay competitive at the box office. That said, based on some recent updates of the studio’s latest projects, things are looking promising for DC’s newest era. In fact, many fans have been engaged in a discussion regarding what DC has in store for them, and a theory about the next Wonder Woman 3 film, in particular, has been at the forefront.

So far, what is known about Wonder Woman 3 is that Gal Gadot’s Diana Prince will likely be more involved in present affairs, with a much lesser emphasis on her past. There is also a wide-open window of opportunity for Gadot and Carter’s characters to link up in the next film, given that The Flash movie is seemingly working on a huge timey-wimey plot (with Michael Keaton and Ben Affleck both set to reprise their respective Batman roles). With time travel and alternate realities being all the rage right now, it makes sense for DC to take the Wonder Woman franchise in that same direction.
For now, all of this remains speculation as Jenkins, Gadot, or Carter have been extremely tight-lipped about the upcoming project. Still, Jenkins has assured that the third film has been green-lighted, despite previous rumors that the studio would drop the franchise after two entries.
Wonder Woman 3 is reportedly in development at Warner Bros.
