Wordle is a free-to-play, easy-to-learn game that is both satisfying and sharable on social media. While it is easy to pick up, the game can be a little confusing for newcomers to the site. So here are the rules of the game:

First, players need to head to the new New York Times version of the Wordle website. Once there, players just need to select any five-letter English word and type it into the first slot on the site. Hit enter, and then the site will give out some clues with the letters provided. The letters will change color based on whether they are correct or not.
Green letters are right. Gray letters are wrong. Yellow letters appear somewhere in the word of the day but are in the wrong spot.
With these clues, players need to puzzle out the Wordle answer of the day. They have a grand total of six tries to guess the answer before they lose. The word of the day resets at midnight local time, so there is only one word every day.
