First, players need to head to the New York Times’ Wordle website. While it used to be hosted on a site called powerlanguage, the New York Times purchased Wordle for a fairly large amount of money. Once at the site, players just need to start guessing real, five-letter English words. The letters of the guessed word will change based on whether they are correct or not, turning green for right, gray for wrong, and yellow for letters that are correct but in the wrong location. Players get a total of six tries to guess the word with those clues.
The puzzle resets every day at midnight, giving players a whole new puzzle to guess at. Since there is only one puzzle a day, loads of websites have been copying the game to give players even more words to try out. This includes a couple of Pokemon-themed Wordle games, a dirty version called Lewdle, and many more variants.
