How To Play Wordle
Wordle is an indie game that was recently purchased by the New York Times for seven figures. It is a browser-based word game that is not only accessible to most devices, but also it is easy to share, easy to learn, but hard to get good at. Wordle fans around the world share their boards every day on social media, so it is rare to find someone on the internet who hasn’t played yet. But if there are any out there who don’t know how Wordle works, here are the rules.

First players head to the New York Times version of the Wordle website. Choose any five-letter English word to start. While there are best words to start a Wordle puzzle with, players can choose whatever starting word they like. Once a word is chosen, players just need to type it into the site and press enter. The letters of the chosen word will change color based on whether they are correct or not. Green letters are correct. Gray letters are incorrect. Yellow letters are in the word somewhere, but they are currently in the wrong location. With these clues, players have five more guesses to get to the word of the day. Letters can be doubled up, but there are a lot of potential English words that cannot be solutions after the New York Times censored some of Wordle words. There is a new word every day at midnight local time.
