And one of the main reasons it has become so popular, even appearing on popular programs like Jimmy Fallon’s Tonight Show, is because of the game’s simple rules and shareability. For those new to the game, here’s what folks need to know about it.

In order to play Wordle these days, people need to head to the official New York Times Games website. To find it easily, putting ‘Wordle’ into a Google search should bring up the site –just click on the first link that pops up.
After reaching the website, there will be five blank spots. Wordle players need to choose a five-letter starting word. It needs to be an English word that is available in the dictionary. Press enter after putting in a word. The letter tile will start to change colors, depending on how close players are to the answer. Green letters are correct. Gray letters are incorrect. Yellow letters are right but in the wrong place in the word. Players have a total of five tries to get to the answer. Words can contain duplicated letters. Puzzles reset at midnight local time every day.
After finding the correct answer, the players’ Wordle statistics will pop up on the screen. This will show information such as how many games the player has played, their win percentage, and their current streak. Wordle players can also share their results with friends on social media without spoiling the day’s answer for anyone.
