How To Play Wordle
A quick note about Wordle: while there are tons of popular clones of Wordle out there, there is only one original. While it was made by Josh Wardle of Powerlanguage, the New York Times purchased it back in February. All the rules, answers, and hints in this article will be about the NYTs game version and not any of the many copycats out in the wild.

Here’s how to play the New York Time Games Wordle:
Head to the website. Choose a starting Wordle word. It should be five letters long and a real English word. Wordle answers are almost always the American spellings of words, can contain duplicate letters, and are not plural versions of nouns with Ss at the end. Type the chosen starting word into the first line of the 5x6 grid on the Wordle website. Press enter. The letters of the chosen word will change colors to give players some hints as to the real answer. Green letters are right, yellow letters are right but in the wrong place in the word, and gray are wrong. Given these hints, players have five more guesses to get to the word of the day. Puzzles reset daily at midnight local time, meaning there is only one puzzle per day. This is part of why there are so many Wordle clones and copycats out there; some people want to play more than one of these puzzles daily.

Although this word is fairly common, some Wordle fans may have trouble with it. The five-letter word of today has several words that are spelled very similarly. So here are a few hints to help players guess without giving away the whole answer.
Today’s five-letter word ends in the letters SE. It is a noun that is used to describe a section of time. It contains an H. It rhymes with the word HAZE. It contains two total vowels. It has no duplicated letters.
