How To Play Wordle
In order to play the original version of Wordle, players will have to head to the New York Times Game website. Originally, Wordle was made by Josh Wardle for powerlanguage, but it was purchased by the NYTs Games in February. There are tons of copycats, but this is the original and all the contents of this article will be about this version.

First, head to the NYTs Wordle website. Choose a starting word. Wordle answers are:
Always real English words. Always five letters long. Usually the Americanized spelling of words, like FIBER over FIBRE. Not an offensive word like a slur. Able to have duplicated letters, like the word VIVID. Almost never plural versions of nouns that end in S.
After choosing a starting word, type it into the Wordle website. Press enter. The letters will then change colors.
Green letters are correct. Gray letters are incorrect. Yellow are right but in the wrong place in the word.
Using these clues, players have six total tries to get to the answer. Puzzles reset daily at midnight local time, giving players just one word a say to guess. This is part of the reason that there are so many popular Wordle clones and copycats out there.
After players complete their puzzle, the Wordle menu will appear. This menu has the player’s stats if they use the same browser and device every day; these stats include win streaks, total puzzles played, guess distribution, and more. This menu is also where players can find the spoiler-free share button.
