As per his newest and still unnamed project, here is what Kojima had to say via his translated Twitter account:
Impressive how Kojima is able to both tease the idea of a new game and dismiss Rising as a non-Hideo-Kojima game in a single Twitter message, isn’t it? While Kojima is listed only as a producer on Rising, here are some other games he’s listed only as a producer on: Zone of the Enders 1 & 2; Castlevania: Lords of Shadow; and Metal Gear Online. Kojima talks often about how he loves his work in Zone of the Enders, marketed Castlevania a ton, and never dismissed Metal Gear Online despite it being such a terrible creation. What exactly is going wrong with Rising?
It’s good to see Kojima getting back into the thick of things with a new project though. Perhaps his mention of Rising was only to allude to this perhaps being a Metal Gear production? Okay, that’s a bit of a stretch, but it’s not like Kojima writes/directs any other franchises right now.
Kojima also had this to say in regards to his new project, also via Twitter:
Well, that’s probably a good thing. If only he’d extrapolate on how his previous games might be lacking in this department, it might make more sense.
